Curlew Project in Montgomeryshire:

CAA is pleased to support the Curlew Project in Montgomeryshire instigated by the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust.  Would all anglers please report sightings of Curlew to the GWCT Project Officer, Kate Appleby at kappleby@gwct.org.uk and website gwct.org.uk/wales

New self-closing access gate:

CAA is pleased to announce that a new self-closing access gate has been installed in the fence line between the Caersws football field and the adjoining farmland. In addition, a second self-closing gate has been installed in the fence line further upstream which replaces the stile.

CAA would like to acknowledge the interest in, and the financial backing of, this project given by Natural Resources Wales. In particular, our thanks go to Chloe Hatton, NRW Mid Wales People & Places Officer (Fisheries) for her support and determination in seeing the project through to completion.

Thanks also go to Dylan Jones of D. W. Jones Fencing & Groundwork for a job well done.

The new gates will stop sheep from roaming across the football pitch and also provide an accessible route for anglers.

Please note that there is no general public right of way.
